Curves with quadric boundary precision

We describe a method for constructing rational quadratic patch boundary curves for scattered data in B3. The method has quadric boundary precision; if the given point and normal data are extracted from a quadric, then the boundary curves will lie on this quad&. Each boundary curve is a conic section represented in the rational BCzier representation.

Spaces of Sections of Quadric Surface Fibrations over Curves

Let k be a field of characteristic not equal to two, B a smooth projective curve of genus g(B) over k, and F its function field. A quadric hypersurface fibration is a flat projective morphism π : X → B such that each geometric fiber is a quadric hypersurface with at worst an isolated singularity and the generic fiber is smooth. Sections σ : B → X of π are in bijection with rational points X(F )...

Places on algebraic curves

Give L an algebraic extension of k(x) where x is an indeterminate, we have defined a lattice Val(L, k) which is a point-free description of the Riemann surface X associated to L/k. (The topology is such that the open correspond to the cofinite sets. Furthermore there is an extra point which corresponds to the trivial valuation ring L.) We present here a fundamental algorithm which of L enumerat...

The Equations of Space Curves on a Quadric

The goal of this note is to study the equations of a curve C ⊂ P3 = PK that is contained in some quadric Q. By a curve, we mean a pure one-dimensional locally Cohen-Macaulay subscheme (i.e. without zero-dimensional components.) We assume that the field K is algebraically closed. If C ⊂ Q is arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay, then, by Dubreil’s Theorem, C is defined by at most 3 equations. The conve...

Algebraic Curves

We consider the problem of tracing algebraic curves by computer, using a numerical technique augmented by symbolic computations. In particular, all singularities are analyzed cOITectly. The methods presented find application in solid modeling and robotics.
